Reasons People Don't LIke Going To The Movies

I feel that going to the movies is one of the most fun things in the world to do. There is just something about going to the theaters that keeps me coming back over and over and over again. There are some reasons, that I must admit, that tend to keep people away from enjoying such a wonderful experience.

1.  The Money
Probably the most important probably the most important reason some people have about not going to the theater is the huge amounts of money it takes to go there, which in this economy is a very understandable reason.  With a majority of the theaters charging ten dollars or more just for the tickets and if someone wants to see a movie in 3D or IMAX they will be forking over around fifteen dollars, its easy to see why someone would rather just stay home and just watch a movie on the couch. Let's not forget the cost of snacks at the movies--popcorn, soda, candy, nachos-- which is where theaters make most of their money, can easily break the bank. Whenever I go to the movies with my girlfriend,  I can't get out of the concession stand without spending at least fifteen or twenty dollars. (I will be making another post about how people can save money when going to the movies)

2.  People Being Annoying
Now that you are in the theater and you got your snacks, the last thing you need is someone ruining mood, but there always seems to be someone there messing with your experience. It may be some person texting in the middle of that tense scene of a scary movie. It may be some kid kicking the back of your seat during the punchline of a comedy flick. It may be some weirdo who will just not stop talking when there is an awesome fight scene in the latest action flick. Whatever the type of person maybe you definitely do not want them in the same theater as you so that you can relax and enjoy the show.

3. Other Choices
Now some are saying, "Why would I want to go out to the movies when there are some many other options that I are at my disposal." There are so many new technologies that allow people to watch movies from the comfort of their own home. Netflix is probably the biggest opponent to the movie theater industry since it has already knocked out the take home movie rental business--Hollywood Video and Blockbuster Video, which is trying its best to stay in the game. With their ability to allow person to have almost any movie they want sent right to their house, and some movies to be able to download instantly,  most people find it unnecessary to leave the house to see the newest movies. Another competitor of the movie industry is OnDemand, which

  1. I agree with your top 3 choices for not wanting to go to the movies. Those are my top three reasons as well. Another thing is the quick releases of new movies to DVDs. I know the newest hit will probably be on DVD in a few months. Yes, I will be out of the water cooler conversation for awhile, but I will save money, my time, and have a better experience cuddling with my hubby on the couch!

  2. I agree on how people can be annoying in the theaters. I just hate it when kids kick the backseat of your chair and their parents don't do anything about it. I had to yell at a couple of parents, because they don't take care of their kids rudeness. Personally, watching movies at home is great and cost efficient, but I still want to go out on dates and have that experience you were talking about in the beginning of the post. They should have invisible screens that surrounds your seat to drown the annoyance out and have you concentrate on the movie
